Reiki is a Japanese form of Universal Healing. It is non invasive and harnesses the energies and powers of the Universe to assist in the Healing Process. The Reiki used at Healing Spirit is strictly Usui and has not been watered down in order to suite or accommodate new fads. Dr.Usui was very emphatic that the system should be pure, and this was one of the reasons that he hand picked a small number of people to become Reiki Masters, in order to take his teachings forward, with little or no deviation. Since then the lineage to Dr. Usui, by the Reiki Master should be able to be traced. As a Reiki Master & Teacher myself I would encourage other Reiki Masters to go back and learn and re-learn Dr. Usui's instructions and principles in relation to this wondrous Healing System.

Dr. Mikao Usui, seen above, was the discoverer, or should I say re-discoverer of this Healing System. It is with much thanks to him and other ascended masters that the system is used today.

I should point out that Reiki is not an alternative to conventional medicine, but rather it complements medical practice. Dr. Usui himself emphasised the difference between being healed and cured.

People receiving Reiki have differing experiences, most find it deeply relaxing. I myself on the first occassion found it to be rather uncomfortable, however, following the first session found future sessions to be most enjoyable. There is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki, just let it happen.
