Reiki for the Dying:

The one thing we are guaranteed is that one day we will leave this life, this is regardless of any religious convictions or beliefs. It is the final step in this stage of our journey.

Some people are afraid of dying and death, especialiy when it comes to their own mortality. So we try not to think about it, until it's too late! My own peronal piece of advice is live every moment as though it was your last - it some times helps me put things into perspective and allows me the joy of the moment.

Healing Spirit does offer Reiki for the Dying, in Dr Usui's words "healing does not always mean cure!" When the inevitable time comes for a loved one or yourself, Reiki can be invaluable - bringing a sense of peace and acceptance for the individual, and some times to those people left behind. Reiki can help allieviate pain and discomfort, as well as distress.

The sense of peace does not only affect the individual passing away, but it impacts on the very environment. One of the nicest complements I have heard about Reiki was from a hospice in Monmouth.  Having been on working on the individual most of the evening I was on watch for the final hour of departure, when the time came. The nurses came into the room to do the necessary checks and follow-ups, when one of them plucked up the courage to ask: "What was it I was doing? A calming peace had decended not just on the person and the room where you were working, but on the whole hospice, and there was a sense of joy" I honestly replied, sorry it had nothing to do with me.
