Feng Shui:

Feng Shui (pronounced Fung Shway) is a Chinese Science of placement in order to create harmony, the words translated mean wind and water, two of the elements in Feng Shui.

Feng Shui uses five elements, or building blocks, these are:

  1. Fire
  2. Earth
  3. Metal
  4. Water
  5. Wood

If you try to learn about Feng Shui on your own from a number of books you quickly become confused, since often the books will contradict each other. One of the reasons for this is that there are three main Schools of Feng Shui:

  1. The Compass School
  2. The Form School
  3. The Black Hat Sect

If you are looking for books on the subject you can't go wrong with Lillian Too, a world renowned expert in the field, and a well published author on the subject.

I myself practice the Compass School, which incorporates aspects of the Form School. I was taught Feng Shui to Advanced Level under the tutorage of Dr. Paul Derby, again another world renowned practioner in the field, and sometimes more known as the designer for the Big Brother sets on television.

Above is a Bagua Map, which represents the different aspects of the building blocks. The black is always to the North, representing water and career, the south is Fire, representing Fame.

When using the Compass School you may have to make changes to accommodate the Form School, an example being if your auspicious direction is your bed to be placed in order for your head to point to the West, and there is a door in the West of you bedroom, then the Form School takes precedence. It can become a bit complex, which is why it is useful to have a Feng Shui Practioner involved. They will take datails of Birth Dates in order to ascertain the most and least auspicious directions for you. They will also assist in identifying problem areas, with solutions to over come these. You can ask for certain areas or aspects of your life you would want to improve and again the practioner should be able to provide in detail ways to address these.

Remember the main aim of Feng Shui is to lead a harmonious and prosperous life. Your home is your sanctury and you must feel comfortable and at ease within it.

Costs for Feng Shui Consultations vary; depending upon the size of the house and how detailed the information you require.

If you require the Practitioner to provide any necessary cures, such as wind chimes, Bagua Mirrors, etc. then this is at the more expensive end of the market, since these products are purchased from reputable stores in London.

If you would like a consultation please contact Greig at Healing Spirit to make the arrangements.

However, you will see that there is also a page dedicated to Feng Shui Tips and Advice, check this on a regular basis since there is always additional advice being added.
