Healing Spirit

Monmouth Society of Spiritual Awareness

Now Known As

The Point of Light

This Page is dedicated to the Monmouth Christian Spiritualist Church and the Monmouth Spiritual Awareness Group, or The Point Of Light.

These are long established groups and held in the highest esteem by all who visit them. This was the group that Greig first attended  when he moved to the Forest from London. The Group was founded in 1998 by Doug and Maureen Meadowcroft, Greig is proud  and blessed to have them as good friends. Both Maureen and Doug have passed over now, but they are still about keeping an eye on things, Doug still nagging at Greig, with Maureen smiling on!

We are also very fortunate to now have Roger and his team who continue to lead the two groups to ensure that there is continuity and consistency and it is wonderful  to see the groups  develop and move forward.

Both Groups have fantastic healers - both Reiki Healing as well as Spiritual Healing, depending on the person's preference.

The Monmouth Spiritual Awareness Group

The Monmouth Spiritual Awareness Group meet every Wednesday at The Rockfield Community Centre starting at 6.45 for people who are in need of healing. The Group formally begins at 7.15pm and finishes at 9.00pm for coffee and biscuits all included in the entrance fee, which is just £2.00. Each week there is a different spirit medium to demonstrate and prove that there is Life after Life. For more information on this inspiring group you can contact Greig through Healing Spirit!

The Monmouth Christian Spiritualist Church

The Monmouth and District Spiritualist Church meets every Sunday, 6.00pm at The Rockfield Community Centre, Monmouth. You are guaranteed to receive a warm welcome along with fellowship of worship. Each week a different medium takes the service in order for communion of thoughts  of love with the departed as well as demonstration of mediumship, again proving that death is just a nasty rumour not to be believed. Entrance is £2.00, this includes refreshments at the end of the service. Healing is also carried out for those who request,  after the service has ended.

The New Committee now consists of the following:

  • Roger Beer - Chairperson and Group Leader
  • Rev Greig McNeish D.D.; BSc (HONS) Psych - Vice-Chairperson {portfolio of Religious and Spiritual Advisor, Internal Auditor, Human Resources Advisor; Training & Coaching Advisor; and Clinical Practice Advisor}
  • Dawn Simmons - Booking Clerk
  • Claire Beavan - Treasurer
  •  Events Coordinator & Fundraiser - to be appointed
  • Secretary to be confirmed

Committee Members are now interviewed by 3 people, 2 members of the Committee, one being the Chairperson, and an attendee of either the Wednesday Group or Church. Committee members are selected on the basis of skills required for the role, this is based on a Skills and Qualifications Specification and  Role Specification. This demonstrates that the process is transparent, there is also a conflicts of interest process, which excludes the recruitment of family members.

Personal Comments:

Both of these groups are excellent for people who are interested in the world of Spiritualism. The energy is pure and the people are friendly and open hearted - with a warm welcome for all who go in through their doors. The work and committment of everyone involved is commendable and second to none. In general the quality of the mediums are very good as well as entertaining, giving proof of life after life. I try to attend both groups as often as I can, just to recharge my own batteries.

I occasionally take the service in the church and do the Wednesday night's group and I can say the warmth from both the congregation and the members of the group are very open, making the job of mediumship more easy.

I now have the honour to serve these groups as Vice Chairperson and I am confident that with the skills of the new committee both groups will go from strength to strength.
