Healing Spirit

Born and raised in Scotland Greig is a true Celt. He is an ordained minister of The Free Church, a Celtic Church - Anam Cara (Scots Gaelic for Soul Mate or Soul Friend) a Free Church is not to be confused the Church of England or any of its off-shoots, nor should it be associated with the Church of Rome. The Spiritual Home of Greig's Church is the Island of Iona, where St.Columba formed the first Celtic monastary in Scotland. Greig's main calling is in the Healing Ministries. He holds a Doctor of Divinity, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (HONOURS); from London University, one of the few universities where Parapsychology can be studied; Greig also holds a number of teaching qualifications - seven at the last count!(Q.T. Status), which allows him to teach from primary, through to secondary schools (for both children in mainstream and those with special needs), as well as Further and Higher Educational establishments in the field of teaching standards for children and adults with autism and other special needs, in addition to this he is also a qualified and experienced trainer. He is trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Hypnotherapy, Research & Design Methods and Advanced Statistics (London University).

In addition to these academic qualifications Greig is also a qualified Sports Massage Therapist (VTVC recognised), a qualified Hot Stone Massage Practitioner, is a Reiki Master Teacher, is a Spritual Healer and Counsellor as well as an evidence based Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Sports Enhancement Therapist. He is trained in Feng Shui to Advanced level under the turorage of Dr. Paul Derby - designer for the sets of Big Brother. Greig holds full membership to The Healer's International Network (THIN).

Greig's main passion, apart from working with Spirit and facilitating Spiritual Development, is teaching children with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Having established and run a school for children with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder in London, Greig moved on to work for the U.K.'s leading charity for Autism as the Director responsible for setting standards of good practice and excellence for both children and adults who have this disability. This means that Greig not only worked with local authorities in order to assist them to improve their provision, but he also worked with Central Government - both the Westminster and the Edinburgh Parliaments in order to advise and assist them improve the quality of provision for these important and vulnerable members of our society. It was through Greig's Directorship that the Charity went from directly impacting on the lives of nearly nine hundred children and adults to over nine and a half thousand children and adults with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Greig has lectured about improving the quality of education and care practice throughout the UK, and Europe - being a key speaker at Autisme Europe's Conference in Paris and Concluding the Year of Autism at the Autisme Europe's Conference in Rome.

If you look at the quality and style of Greig's Teaching, as well as the number of Teaching Qualifications he holds, it was by no accident that he ended up setting the standards for education in the UK and Europe for children and adult services, since he is a perfectionalist and does not accept second best.

Greig was born a spirit medium with a natural ability to both see and communcate with Spirit as well as other energies, which was hardly surprising since his Mother has the same 'gift' so this was never supressed in Greig, indeed he assumed this to be the norm for everyone. He is described as an excellent medium as well as healer, teacher and trainer, to date nobody has left a reading feeling disappointed or cheated - all have praised his gifts, which he tends to understate. He believes that he has nothing to prove to himself, or anyone else - so he doesn't claim to be anything that he is not! Just an everyday medium, psychic & healer leading a normal, but busy life!

Greig leads a very busy and fulfilling life with a wide range of hobbies and interests, including the study of a very wide and effective range of Martial Arts at the U.K.'s leading Academy, where he is not only fortunate to study Martial Arts under The Great Masters, but is also able to study and put into practice Zen Philosophy- if you want more information on this excellent Academy, just contact Greig at Healing Spirit, or check the Links Page. Martial Arts for Greig is not just a hobby but has now become a way of life (although he still claims not to be a fanatic), using the stamina and discipline required for the martial arts into all aspects of his daily life.

(Below is Greig practicing Japanese Sword in the Forest at Sunset, there are orbs on his shoulder, which can clearly be seen)

(Just to let people know; Greig does have a licence for the practice of Japanese Sword, as well as a number of other martial arts within his school)

Greig is also a student of Kabalah, working with The Tree of Life, The 72 Names of G-d, and of course the Zohar (The Book of Splendor), Greig first became interested in The Kabalah in 1991, the deputy of his school, was a Rabbi, his main areas of expertise being the Laws on Kashrus (Kosher Food) as well as The Kabalah. I should point out that under Jewish Orthodox Teachings a man cannot study Kabalah until he is a Rabbi and has reached the age of 40. Greig was fortunate in that his deputy also became a loyal friend and Greig now has links with the Kabbalah Centre in London as well as in the States. Greig would encourage those wishing to study Kabbalah to visit the Centre in London, this will give the true meaning as well as methods of practice for learning this vast and wonderful treasure.

(It should be noted that Greig is an ex-head of a school for children with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Greig established the school then ran it for over nine years, for children coming from the more Orthodox Jewish Communities in North London. During this time he was fortunate to spend time again in Eretz Yisroel (the Holy Land) looking at Jewish Education with Professor Fuerstein.)

Due to the nature of his work and his personality Greig works to extremely high standards in all that he does - he is a perfectionist and would rather destroy or not do something than settle for second best (his star sign being Virgo!),whether this be teaching, healing, comunicating with Spirit or indeed martial arts (where he gets much of his inspiration and discipline). Of course the offshoot of this is that he expects those same high standards from all other services he uses or indeed endorses. It is for this reason links to this site must meet his standards in terms of quality, professionalism, and integrity, and he will only recommend services he has used or had excellent reports on, so feel safe and free to visit the other links on this site. Some people have pointed out that many of the links on Greig's site provide the same or similar services as Healing Spirit, therefore this should be seen as competition! Really! Greig believes it is wonderful that so many services are available to people in the area, this provides them with real choice - and most of the so called competition are friends of Greig, so please look at their sites since they may offer something that The Healing Spirit does not, therefore it would be a shame if you missed out.

Greig often describes himself as a skeptic, (or reluctant medium) in orther words he likes to see proof of what's happening, and will often question his guides for confirmation to ensure accuracy.  This is in part due to his personality and a lot with regards to his training in psychology, if it can't be measured it does not exist! He views other mediums in the same way, setting very high standards, he has come accross a large number of people who preport to be mediums but who are just self deluded individuals, which saddens him deeply. Not only because this gives the genuine mediums a bad name, but because there must be something missing in the lives of people who not only deceive others, but also deceive themselves. In reality it is those people who require the greatest compassion.

Greig sees himself as very fortunate to be able to serve Spirit as a medium and healer, and he views this as an extention to his religious and spiritual practice within Anam Cara - The Celtic Church.

Whilst living in London Greig was fortunate to see Doris Stokes in action at the Dominion Theatre - she is everything you would expect and then some. The other side must be a better place with her being there, we on the other hand have lost one of the Greatest Mediums of all time. She inspired, and continues to be an inspiration to Greig as a brilliant medium, there's no one like her, nor is there likely to be!

Living in London spoiled Greig in a number of ways - 24 hour shopping, 24 hour drinking, 24 hour eating and 24 hours of partying big time!

Living in London also brought with it other benefits; one of which is Belgrave Square, the home of spiritualism in the UK.  Greig used to go regular, to watch how the great and famous mediums do their training. He was also able to see them do platform work and receive personal readings from them. The only difficulty with this was that Greig now measures everything else by the Standards of Belgrave Square, hence he is often dissappointed and at times disillusioned by the quality of some of the so called mediums he has seen outside London. This is not to say that all mediums in London are fantastic, nor does it imply that all mediums outside London are of poor quality.

Trans-mediumship; Greig still struggles with this, since he has yet to come accross a trans-medium who is convincing. Greig finds it difficult to listen to words of wisdom from a Chinese Sage who speaks with an accent more like a Dock Rat from Cardiff - doing a bad impression of Bruce Lee. This is not to say that all trans-mediums are fake, or should be on serious medication! It's just that Greig is unfortunate never to have come accross one who is convincing. This will probably upset a number of people by this view point, but it is Greig's experience so far!

In terms of Spirit Guides have you noticed how many people claim to have a Native American? In the words of the famous General Custer, "where the hell did all these bloody Indians come from?" It seems that you are a nobody unless you have a Native American as a guide, if you do the maths, there aren't enough departed Native Americans to go round everyone who claims to have one as a guide, so what's going on!

Native Americans were and are a very spiritual race, as were and are the true Celts, the Japanese Samurai, and a number of different races from all over the world. It would appear to me to be more of a status symbol if you are fortunate enough to have a Native American as a Spirit Guide, or should I say claim to have a Native American as a Guide. Of course Spirit Guides present themselves in a number of different ways, and it may be that it is what makes the individual more at ease, I don't know?

Of course if you are a Traveler (Gypsy), then you're quid's in, since everybody knows that all Travelers are Clairvoyant - and in addition are able to issue curses and hexes - says who?

In Scotland and Ireland Travelers are also renowned for other attributes, but these have nothing to do with clairvoyance or spirituality, and catch Greig on a bad day and he can also issue curses and 'hexes' with the best of them! It should be pointed out that Greig is not anti-traveler, he used to teach their children in established camps in London - as a child he would go potato picking with their children who were his friends in class at school, however, none of these people ever claimed to be clairvoyant or spiritual, they could be described as being deeply relligious, and  of course there is a vast difference!

In case you have not noticed Greig is outspoken, but he will be the first to state they are only his views at the present moment and as we develop these may change.

Greig's Father was very musical, he played; the Ullean Pipes, the Highland Bag Pipes, the flute, the fiddle, the piano, the piano accordian and a number of other instruments - the stange thing is he was never taught to read music, he heard a tune and then could play it - during the war he was a piper in the Cameronians, the Germans affectionately called them the ladies from Hell! Probably due to the kilts and the Skirling of the pipes.

The House therefore could be very busy, not just with Spirit movement, but also with the swilling back of spirits - mainly whiskey. Friends would pop in for a session (not of drinking, but of playing music), as a result Greig learnt to play the Bodhran, the Goat Skinned Drum. He was also taught the Chanter in preparation for playing the Bag Pipes, however, due to athsma he found it a difficult instrument to master - he can almost squeak out Amazing Grace and a Pibroch. Finally, everyone was forced to sing at least one song in Gaelic - including Puirt a Bhuil or mouth music. Greig has not attempted this  for a number of years, although the dulcet tones of Gaelic Psalm singing can occassionally be heard in Berry Hill on the Sabath.

Whilst Greig now lives in the Forest of Dean, he never describes this as home, it is just where he lives. Greig's home remains in Scotland, despite the fact that he has lived in London since 1983 and then moved to the forest several years ago. It is his ambition one day to go home to be with his remaining family and friends. As for the friends Greig has made here, they will just have to come and visit him in Scotland or Alba.

(Above Loch Katrine, near to Greig's birth place)

The last time Greig was at home (in Scotland) he was sitting in the kitchen with his sisters, the tea was flowing and the cigarettes burning one after the other - when in through the haze of smoke strolled Greig's Father. The sisters were a bit surprised since Greig's Father passed over from heart disease at 8.30am, Friday 3rd February 1995. It was a great reunion, and Greig's Father had them all in tears of laughter telling him about stories his sisters used to get up to before Greig was born. His father also told Greig that he was watching over his mother, along with his grandparents, five uncles and two aunts, with one great aunt as well as with the extended family and numerous friends. Greig's father also told him about the current situation with his mother - the two sisters remained silent, since they did not tell Greig all of the details to avoid upsetting him! Needless to say that Greig is extremely happy and reassured that his mum has family around her, albeit that they are in spirit, and that they will smooth her transistion when the time comes. Greig looks forward to seeing his mum again, he knows that he will not see her again this side of life, but what a great reunion that will be when the family all once again meet together - even if it is in a smoke filled kitchen.

Recent events have attempted to make Greig ashamed of his gifts, abilities, his up-bringing, his culture and yes his religious belief system - but what does not kill you makes you stronger! Greig makes no appology for being 'unique!'

Greig's attitude to bigotry and ignorance is one of sadness, since these people are still strugling around in the dark, doing what the masses do, because that is acceptable. We should look at these people with compassion, but with detachment - it is their challange, not ours!

Believe in Spirit and the power of the Universe, and more importantly - believe in yourself!
